When a homeowner decided to breathe new life into a charming, historic post office structure on her property, she knew proper testing was the essential first step before any remodeling could begin. To ensure the space was safe for renovation, Oak Leaf Environmental stepped in to perform a comprehensive asbestos inspection on the flooring and drywall materials. We provided a detailed sampling assessment alongside clear cost projections for potential abatement, giving the owner total confidence and peace of mind as she plans her project.
Before: A 1996 Spring Mills home featured a partially finished basement and elevated radon levels that posed a potential health risk to his family. With no existing mitigation system in place, the home needed a tailored solution capable of effectively drawing gas from beneath the foundation without disrupting the finished living areas.
After: Oak Leaf Environmental designed and installed a custom residential radon mitigation system. By strategically placing a core pit in the rear unfinished section of the basement and neatly routing the exhaust piping out the back of the home, the team lowered radon levels safely and discreetly, giving the homeowner complete peace of mind.
We performed post-remediation air quality testing for a customer in Mill Hall, PA following mold mitigation by STOP Restoration. Access to the basement crawl space required a minor curveball—entry was only accessible via an exterior hatch using a step ladder rather than through the main house. Using calibrated air sampling pumps, our team collected baseline indoor and outdoor control samples to verify total spore counts. This follow-up testing ensured the crawl space was thoroughly cleared of elevated mold levels and safe for the homeowners.
We stopped by a customers home in Wellsboro to check out her setup, where an existing passive radon pipe was doing its best impression of a working system. Since passive vents rely mostly on luck and gentle breezes to move gas, we're gearing up to install a full sub-slab depressurization system with a proper fan at the end of September. Consider this the "before" shot—check back in a few weeks, and we'll post the updated photos showing what a real, fully powered radon setup looks like!
Before our team stepped in, this bathroom space was covered in legacy asbestos-containing floor tiles that posed a risk during future renovations. Oak Leaf Environmental safely contained the area, carefully stripped away the old tile, and mechanically scraped the underlying mastic straight down to the bare subfloor. As shown in the after photo, the room is now completely cleared, thoroughly HEPA-vacuumed, and ready for safe new flooring installation!
